confused

Hello just a quick question..

on Geronimo

You mention bringing together communities of JBoss , MX4J and Open EJB..

Are you asking developers who are considering joining those dev groups
to join Gonimo instead?

Or is this Geronimo using those compoents inorder to produce a more
complete and comprehensive J2EE full implementation?

I think its the 2nd case but the article here:

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=10872

did not make that clear..

Thanks

Geronimo has started off with developers from all of those communities.
We welcome any developers from those communities or elsewhere to get
involved (including any corporate J2EE companies etc).

Not necessarily instead. Could be as well.

The aim is to reuse any good J2EE components which Apache is allowed to
reuse. i.e. that Apache is legally able to redistribute as binaries. My
understanding today is that this includes any BSD / ASF licenced code.
So we can definitely reuse things already at Apache such as Tomcat &
Axis & log4j. Plus we should be able to reuse components not at Apache
right now but which is licenced under BSD / ASF style licences such as
mx4j, OpenJMS & Tyrex etc.
