[Bug 120924] New: anchor first x-value to y-axis

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120924

          Priority: P3
            Bug ID: 120924
          Assignee: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
Summary: anchor first x-value to y-axis
          Severity: normal
        Issue Type: DEFECT
    Classification: Application
                OS: Windows 7
          Reporter: bclown1975@gmail.com
          Hardware: PC
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
         Component: formatting
           Product: chart

Created attachment 79445
  --> https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=79445&action=edit
Spread sheet showing the chart with floating x-values.

Running Windows 7 SP 1 on an HP Pavilion G7. Open Office 3.4.1

Previous to Open Office 3.4.1 when I created a chart from my data the first
x-value was always anchored to the y-axis. Since installing Open Office 3.4.1
the x values in my chart float and center themselves on the x-axis. Also the
x-values are dates that I exercise and if I miss a day I do not put it into the
data for the chart but now the chart inserts those missing days with no data
points and it screws up my charts. This has only happened since I installed
Open Office 3.4.1 before that it worked just fine. I have put this on the help
forums under the topic 'anchor first x-value to the y-axis' and have not gotten
a solution to this problem.

I have attached a sample of one of my spread sheets so you can see what I am
talking about.

Thank you in advance.

Right click on Y - Format Axis... - Positioning - Axis line cross other axis at
value 03/09/2012 doesn't help.
Right click on X - Format Axis... - Scale - Type = Date and Minimum =
03/09/2012 also doesn't help.
Can not think on a possible remedy for the missing days.

Hi, Raymond

This problem is all about the format of the x axis labels.
In your sample file, the Date has been used as label of x axis.
In fact, the value of Date is a type of number. In this case, all the values of
your date are greater than 0. It makes the start of the line can not anchor to
Y axis.

A solution for your reference:
Change the Date into text. Several ways can do it. For example, add character '
before the date.
Then create chart, the result will be what you want.

If it can resolve your problem, can I close this defect? Thanks.
