Do you want to do Tomcat monitoring? It would mean less code for us and more reuse of existing monitoring.
We can automate this as well along with the nightly pull script.

I've classified this for 1.1 as it is certainly non-blocking as as the WebService at any23.org will be updated nightly there is no need for us to hold a 1.0 release for this.
