****** How to enable HTTP Put **********
I need to enable the Put method on my Apache server (running on a Linux
box). Documentation is scarce on this topic. From the limited info I
have found, I inserted the following into httpd.conf:
<IfModule mod_put.c>
<Directory /var/www/html>
EnablePut On
AuthType Basic
AuthName client_upload
AuthUserFile /usr/local/etc/httpd/put_users
EnableDelete Off
umask 007
<Limit PUT>
require valid-user
</Limit>
</Directory>
</IfModule>
After restarting the server and sending an HTTP Options request to the
server, the server responds that it only supports GET POST TRACE and
OPTIONS. When I try to PUT a file to the server, I get a 403 Forbidden
response.
Yes, I am aware of the security problems of enabling PUT. (This is for
an internal server, so I am not worried.)
Please, please, please o please. Can anybody help me? I really need
PUT to work. HOW CAN I DO THIS?
Thanks in advance,
Ron Stagg
