Trying DefaultApplyXSL sample
I am trying to run the DefaultApplyXSL sample servlet. I am calling it from my browser with
http://giant:8080/servlet/DefaultApplyXSL?URL=/webservices.xml&xslURL=/webservices.xsl&debug=true
I am getting the following error message in my browser window (Internet Explorer).
Error: 404
http://giant/webservices.xml
getDocument() resulted in ApplyXSLException
Parsing XML Document from request parameter: http://giant/webservices.xml

For my server, I am running jswdk-1.0.1 (on Windows/NT) and I have put webservices.xml and webservices.xsl in the /jswdk-1.0.1/Web-inf/servlets directory. Should my .xml and .xsl files be put somewhere else?
Thanks for any help,
Cheryl

Hi, Cheryl,
I haven't used the ApplyXSL servlet, but you might want to try putting the xml and xsl files in the htdocs\public_html directory. That way they'll be available via http.
If this doesn't work, you may be running into a problem where java.net.URL is trying to connect via port 80 (default port), but the server is listening on 8080. Try specifying the full URL (e.g. http://giant:8080/webservices.xml) to see if that works and if it does, you could build the url in the servlet using the correct port (HttpServlet has methods to get this info).
Hope this helps,
Jim
