Done. By the way, I might add: the changes in the skinconf DTD with regard to
searching have not yet been reflected in the other skins' stylesheets anyway.

It's a rewrite using a different approach than Ramón's patch originally did.
I wrote a lengthy description on this rewrite when I first submitted it (in
February), but it must have been lost in the noise and produced no replies,
so I figured the feature was not needed/wanted at the moment. Said message

I thought there was still a lot of work to be done to get this done.
And it's not an outstanding issue, so it would be ok to leave it out for
now. But if you think you can finish it fairly soon, okay.
