[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-7996) Evaluate moving SolrIndexSearcher creation logic to a factory

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-7996?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15059047#comment-15059047 ]

Tomás Fernández Löbbe commented on SOLR-7996:
---------------------------------------------

[~jej2003] (in reply to [this email|http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/lucene-solr-user/201512.mbox/%3CCAL3VrCereW7L7xjDab7B8nkd0Xw9-HfPH_BoX=CN-_ByB9RJ2Q@mail.gmail.com%3E]), some time ago I worked on a SolrSearcherFactory as part of SOLR-5621 (a more ambitious Jira than this), the idea now is slightly different, but maybe it helps, at least a similar thing is what I had in mind when I created the Jira (also, making the factory configurable).
Maybe we should also move the "wrapReader" method from SolrIndexSearcher to the factory?

> Moving this logic away from SolrCore is already a win, plus it should make it easier to unit test and extend for advanced use cases.
