[jira] [Commented] (COUCHDB-3334) Remove instance_start_time field from db info

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-3334?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15933201#comment-15933201 ]

Eric Avdey commented on COUCHDB-3334:
-------------------------------------

The field used in replicator to detect if either source or target was restarted and since we need replicator to work even with old versions of Couch that have that logic we can't remove that field even in future version. Going to close with "won't fix".

> The field doesn't make much sense in clustered environment, since it's going to be different for each shards' range, so it's better to remove it to avoid confusion.
> It's backward incompatible change, so scheduling this in version 3.x
