Hi all,
I gave this problem a shot in my PR [https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/26505], which implements tolerations it in a slightly different way than the proposed one due to the key field being optional (therefore it cannot be used as a unique identifier).
I have a custom build with this patch already working internally here in OLX, please have a look at the PR if you have time. Hope it helps more people as well :)
