Euh... so that begs the question, "okay... so it was the only one without an
alias, so why did it *need* one?" :-)

Okay... let's get concrete here. I propose to remove the following aliases:

ad
unad
im
imp
df
di
pl
pg
ps
st

Thoughts?

No need to get all worked up :-)

I threw it in simply because I didn't know whether people used it. I use
"cvs stat" myself.

I type 'svn st' a thousand bazillion times per day, while casually
debugging and QA'ing. This command has become as fundamental as
typing 'ls' in a directory. Unlike CVS's status command, our status
command is *short* and *consise*, and instantly tells me what's
modified, what has props, what's in conflict, etc.

Essentially, I run 'svn st' for the same reason I run 'cvs up' when I
just want to see a bunch of 'M' characters. But the only reason
people use 'cvs up' for this reason is because the 'cvs status' output
is so awful; it's really a horrible reason to run an update. :)
I'm hoping that 'svn st' becomes the new reflexive habit for everybody.

Thus I adamantly suggest keeping 'st'. I'm trying to promote a habit
here. :)  :)

Yeah; will get rid of these right now, objections don't seem likely,
given how little import is used.

Check; done.

Users who use the property commands a lot will want pl, pg, and ps
too. Anyway, I'm not sure the sets of developers and users are so
disjoint as all that... :-)

Would prefer to keep all three variants of each command (full,
slightly abbreviated, and two-letter), for exactly the same reason to
keep all three of "status".

Right.

My thought exactly.

Consensus seems to go with 'di'.

Use plist, pget, pset.

We should be building for the users, not for the developers. As I mentioned
in the other note, I don't think we want to proliferate these.

Sure. That was the only one that I questioned from my list.

Well, cvs uses di so if we have to pick one ...

I agree 100%, being able to run `svn st` instead of update
is going to be really useful. I hate having to pull in new
code to find out about merge conflicts and the like.

Okay, some agree, some disagree:

  ad   --> agree, because silly
  unad --> agree, because silly
  im --> agree, because imports are rare commands
  imp --> agree, because imports are rare commands

But

  df --> keep either this or `di'
  di --> keep either this or `df'
  pl --> keep this, we're going to be typing it a lot, especially developers
  pg   --> same
  ps   --> same
  st --> same, see Ben's mail, the truth of which I can bear witness to :-)
