[jira] Created: (MRM-956) smtp values in security.properties not
being taken into account.
smtp values in security.properties not being taken into account.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MRM-956
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MRM-956
Project: Archiva
Issue Type: Bug
Components: system
Affects Versions: 1.1.2
Environment: Solaris X86 10.0
Reporter: Michael Delaney
The SMTP settings (email.smtp.*), listed in the security.properties file are not being taken into account when start Archiva in standalone.
I was unable to get email to be sent via Archiva using the security.properties file (located in $ARCHIVA_BASE/conf). The ONLY way I was able to get this to work was by updating the jetty.xml file (located in $ARCHIVA_BASE/conf) with the updated smtp host information. From what I read, you should be able to set any SMTP related values in the security.properties. This doesn't seem to be the case. Some email settings could be specified in the security.properties file but it doesn't seem consistent.

Michael Delaney commented on MRM-956:
-------------------------------------
I assume the jndiName is the item stored in jetty.xml (pasted below). If I remove that then Archiva doesn't even start up, exceptions are thrown.

actually I meant the jndiName in the security.properties.
Is there a reason you can't use the Jetty mail session configuration?

I believe the jndiName property will override them. If you set that to empty, does it work?
