[jira] [Created] (NIFI-235) Test nifi on a single core/minimally resourced system

Joseph Witt created NIFI-235:
--------------------------------

Summary: Test nifi on a single core/minimally resourced system
                 Key: NIFI-235
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-235
             Project: Apache NiFi
          Issue Type: Test
          Components: Core Framework
            Reporter: Joseph Witt

The performance and behavior of NiFi is often tested on large systems systems with what is believed to be adequate resources. What we do not do well is test NiFi's behavior on intentionally, but reasonably, small systems.

It should be tested on a single core system with limited RAM. Specifically the GetFile and PutFile processors should be set with aggressive settings and processor and memory utilization should be evaluated. This should not cause 100% CPU usage. Issues should be identified and any lessons learned documented. Scale up isn't all that matters...
