------- Additional Comments From rleland@apache.org 2003-09-29 19:27 -------

There was a released 1.1.0 version back on Aug 28.
We have moved to Apache httpd style releases.
When a release is created it is initially only
announced on the developers list.
This is because all release are initially be considered
Alpha quality. So right now it is under
http://jakarta.apache.org/~rleland/ValidatorAlpha

Then after they have been used for some time
there can be a vote to promote that very same release to
Beta, or general release. If promoted to a beta or general release
the binary is moved from
http://jakarta.apache.org/~rleland/ValidatorAlpha
to the normal distribution places.
then an announcement is made on both the commons-dev, commons-user,
general lists, and then the main web site.

You're welcome to try it out so we can have feed back and reason to
promote it to a higher rating.
