[~eric@apache.org], you should not need to edit the james-pmc group in Jira at all. The roles should take care of it. The groups are deprecated, and their functionality was replaced by the role mechanism. The process of adding btellier manually to the PMC role was the correct thing to do. If you need to be added to the PMC role in other projects, someone with appropriate karma will need to do so in the same fashion as Eric added you to JSIEVE's PMC role.

Is there some kind of permissions or functionality that you're expecting that the role isn't providing?
