Windows 2000: Service not found
Summary: Windows 2000: Service not found
Product: Apache httpd-2.0
Version: 2.0.39
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
Status: NEW
Severity: Blocker
Priority: Other
Component: Platform
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: w.flamme@web.de
During Installation, Apache installs itself as a service (named Apache2, i
think). Not on my machine. The only visible Service is "Apache", remaining from
the previously installed httpd 1.3.20 after de-installation.
The Service called "Apache" is shown in "Services", but not in the Apache
Service Monitor (ASM). When I am right in reading my installation(.msi)-logfile,
msi finds a Service called "Apache2", but this is shown neither in "Services"
nor in ASM.
RegEdit shows an entry "Apache2" in
HKLM/System/ControlSet001/Enum/Root/LEGACY_APACHE2 with "Apache2" as DeviceDesc
and as Service (same with ControlSet002 and CurrentControlSet).
Since there is no service visible, apache can't start. How do I get the service
visible and/or running?
