VerifyError

Has anyone seen this error before? 

[AxisServlet]: Failed to load servlet: java.lang.VerifyError: org/apache/axis/encoding/ser/BeanDeserializer 0000 0000 

I am trying to deploy a working application to the iSeries and I am getting the attched errors.  I am using Axis 1.2RC3.
