How to monitor the cache info?

hi Ignite team,

In the community version, how to monitor the below info:

1. which nodes are one cache assigned to? which partitions for each node?

2. how to monitor the memory usage in each node for one cache?

3. how to monitor the off-heap memory usage for one node? seems the node
command in IgniteVisor can only show the heap and non-heap which isn't the
same with off-heap memory.

Thanks,
-Jason

Configuration and SQL functionality of Web Console is open source since
ignite-1.6.

See ignite-web-console module:

https://github.com/gridgain/apache-ignite/blob/master/modules/web-console/README.txt

https://github.com/gridgain/apache-ignite/blob/master/modules/web-console/DEVNOTES.txt

Monitoring is developed as enterprise plugin. And available only via GridGain
servers for now.

right?
No, Web Console uses Visor tasks that I mentioned in previous e-mail.

Thanks.

Alexey,

so far, the Web console can only be hosted on GridGain servers, right? is
there any plan to open source it in the near future?

BTW, it also uses JMX to get all the information of cluster and cache,
right? Has all the information that Web console shows been included in the
Ignite community version?

Thanks,
-Jason

Jason,

Web Console could be used for free (hosted on GridGain servers), see
https://ignite.apache.org/addons.html#web-console
Visor GUI - is a part of GridGain Enterprise. You may download 30 day trial
and take a look.

Thanks.

Thanks Alexey.

I'll take a look at the classes that you mentioned.

BTW, Web Console / Visor GUI tools can only be used by the enterprise
version now, right?

Thanks,

Jason,

You may try to take a look at
*org.apache.ignite.internal.visor.node.VisorNodeDataCollectorTask*.
This is internal task for Web Console / Visor CMD / Visor GUI tools.
This task collect from all nodes in grid VisorCache via
*org.apache.ignite.internal.visor.node.VisorNodeDataCollectorJob*.

You may take a look how caches metrics collected. Also see
*org.apache.ignite.internal.visor.cache.VisorCachePartitionsTask* and
related classes.

You may write you own task taking mentioned classes as example and
periodically execute that task on your cluster and collect metrics.

Please NOTE, mentioned classes are in internal package and it is not
recommended to use them directly, as they may change without notification.

Hope this help.

Thanks Alexey. It's very useful.

getOffHeapAllocatedSize is the real off-heap memory that is used by the
cache?

These two MXBean provide some primary information for the Ignite and cache,
but seems that they haven't provided the partition assignment info for each
cache on the node.

thanks,
-Jason

Hi, Jason,

I think you could use JMX to monitor various metrics of Ignite.

You may start to look from classes:
  org.apache.ignite.mxbean.IgniteMXBean
  org.apache.ignite.mxbean.CacheMetricsMXBean
