So after closing WICKET-2377 and thinking it was my fault it actually wasn't...
When calling tester.newFormTester() the constructor of FormTester attaches model objects when visiting the form's children. it should detach these models again:
*** no models attached
tester.newFormTester("form")
*** models are attached now!!
Patch included. It compiles clean with current trunk. Please integrate it before going final. The current behavior is different from running wicket on a web server so test cases are not testing the real behavior of wicket.
