[users@httpd] Reverse proxy and rewrite module on apache 2.0.52

Hello ,

This may be trivial or stupid question, so my apologies if it is really a
case.
But I am desperate to find an answer

My version of apache is 2.0.52 on RedHat9
I have applied configuration for the reverse proxy with usage of rewrite
module.

It does not work as expected.
When I first try to connect to reverse-proxied site I am getting an error.
If I "refresh" the request it goes through.
error_log reports on first try:
[Thu Nov 11 14:31:15 2004] [error] [client 172.x.x.x] File does not exist:
/var/www/html/mail, referer:
http://test2.kaz.priv/NOTES01/mail/user.nsf/iNotes/Welcome/?OpenDocument&ui=inotes

http://test2.kaz.priv is my reverse proxy
NOTES01 is internal Lotus Notes server

Has anyone ever heard about such problem? And can point me to the right
direction
(I have tried to search mailing lists, found a few users reporting the same
error, but no answers)

Thank you for your time

regards
