Apache Retreat, Knockree, Ireland, 9-12 April 2010

Forwarded from Noirin Shirley:

The first Apache Retreat will be held in Knockree, Ireland, from 9th
to 12th April 2010.

Committers who've attended ApacheCon have often remarked that the most
valuable part of the experience was the opportunity to meet
face-to-face with other Apache folk, and to cross-pollinate with
different projects.

The Retreat is designed to provide maximum opportunity for that kind
of cross-pollination, but to be successful, we need projects to get
behind it and committers to sign up!

At a recent Bay Area hackathon for just two projects, the Traffic
Server podling finalized the issues that were blocking their first ASF
release, got a working version running on OS X, and cross-signed GPG
keys. HTTPD project members pushed their latest release out to the
mirrors, and worked on community-building, including electing some new
committers & PMC members.

If you're not yet registered, visit http://apache.eventbrite.com/ to
sign up. Let others in your project know what you'd like to work on,
and contact other projects if you're interested in working with them
while you're there :-)

If financial concerns are putting anyone off, assistance is available.
Visit http://www.apache.org/travel/index.html for more information and
to apply - the deadline has been EXTENDED, to February 8th 2010.

Looking forward to seeing you in April!

Your Apache Retreat planning team
