new maven codebases

Hi,

In the Maven project we have two codebases that are at Codehaus that we
would like to bring in under the the Maven project as sub projects.

The code was developed by Maven committers except for one person who is
doing some experimenting on a branch.

In these cases can the PMC vet the code as we have the IP issues dealt
with. We need a CLA to be submitted by the one volunteer who is not an
Apache committer.

Should a copy of:

http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/incubator/public/trunk/site-
author/projects/incubation-status-template.html?view=markup

be used for good measure?

Ok, I'll wait for an answer (I missed the specific thread - I'll keep
an eye out).

Failing that, I'll include them in the /committers/pmc/maven area of SVN.

Each project has an area of Incubator SVN at
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/$PROJECT/
Perhaps that would be a better place.

The "site-author" area is really only for material
that is destined for the website.

I put them in the site-author/project/$FOO area of svn, because it's
at least in incubator, in the area of the project.

Not sure. Geir asked the same question a couple of days ago:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=incubator-general&m=113111893709884
but no replies.

I suppose that the main question is, does it need to
end up on the Incubator website. If so then we we need to
create a space in the site-author directory and links to
each document. If not, then we need some other space in SVN.

Check in copies into SVN. You'll find several examples already.

The clearance template is what I documented in my other email.

How does this need to be officially recorded?

RE: new maven codebases

Jason,

We have been directed that anytime an external codebase is imported into the
ASF, that we must document it. Hence:

  http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/incubator/public/trunk/site-author/proje
cts/incubation-status-template.html?view=markup

So, yes, the PMC should file a copy of that for each external codebase
imported into ASF source control.
