Just FYI.

Just tried this out on my Mac Book Pro (was on my iMac before).
1) In Safari: it seemed to load about twice as fast as compared to my
iMac - I can't think why. My network connection at home is much
faster than my connection at work.
2) There was no visible load time in Firefox (I guess they are sharing
the same cache on the Java side or something).
3) With Firefox I didn't get the artefacts that Sandro observed

Hi to all,
another small problem but only in latest Firefox 3.5.x (probably this
time related to the Browser): when scrolling the page (going down a
lot, then scrolling up), the Applet is repainted good, but using more
space than specified, so for example the first line of the text
immediatly up and down (respect to the Applet) are overwritten with
applet artifacts ... not so good (the Java Plugin here).
In attach a sample screenshot, inside the zip.
After, scrolling only a little cause a repaint and all artifacts goes away.
Have you tried to put more space between the text and the Applet ...
could help avoiding this problem.
In IE 8 all is good.
Someone has this little problem in Firefox, or in another Browser ?
And in other OS ?
Bye

Hi Greg,
from a Vista 64 OS, the first time (and only the first time) I got this error:
caricamento: classe
org.apache.pivot.wtk.BrowserApplicationContext$HostApplet non trovata.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.pivot.wtk.BrowserApplicationContext$HostApplet

at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source)

Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Eccezione: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.pivot.wtk.BrowserApplicationContext$HostApplet
My Java Plugin is: Java Plug-in 1.6.0_15-b03 ... but at this point I
don't know if this is a 64 bit version.
My Java Runtime is: java version "1.6.0_14"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)
But after reloading all works good ... maybe a network (or server
load) problem, before.
When scrolling, i have flashing effects too (the same in IE 8 and
Firefox 3.5.x), I hope Sun will fix this small bug.
Bye,
Sandro

Yeah, unfortunately. It happens at the AWT level - the peer's
background is repainted before the lightweight paint code kicks in.
You can disable this behavior in Windows via a system property, but
there doesn't appear to be any way to turn it off in OS X. I submitted
a bug report to Sun about it a long time ago, asking them to make it
configurable via a public API, but you can imagine how far I got with
that...

Good stuff! =)
On my system (fully up to date Mac OS 10.6.1) I get occasional
'flashes' when I scroll the page up and down - is this normal?
