Question about doctype with Cocoon 1.8.2

Hi !

How can I remove the "DOCTYPE" declaration in an output HTML ???
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/strict.dtd">

I have a problem with JavaScript and I don't have a solution...
