Haonan Hou commented on THRIFT-4911:
------------------------------------
Hi, I think publishing Python wheels to PyPI would be very helpful for downstream users. Right now, installing from sdist may require a local build environment, while wheels make installation much easier and more reliable, especially in CI and restricted environments. I also noticed there was a previous PR https://github.com/apache/thrift/pull/3041 for this work. Is anyone still interested in pushing it forward? Thanks!

> [Wheels|https://pythonwheels.com/] are Python's preferred method of packaging libraries in binary form. It would be great if Thrift was published in wheel-form as well as source to PyPi.
