[Bug 5335] New: need command-line option to query about rules
http://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5335
Summary: need command-line option to query about rules
Product: Spamassassin
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P5
Component: spamassassin
AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
ReportedBy: ehall@ehsco.com
It's very hard to get information about rules that are currently being used. A
command-line option to the spamassassin executable to query about rules would be
very useful.
A typical scenario goes something like this: a spam is hitting a particular
rule, and I need to find the default score for that rule to see if it can be
tweaked. First I have to find the rule before I can see what it does (which may
not be what I think it does) and locate the score, etc. This can be very time
consuming in some cases.
A simple command-line option like --show-rule=RULE that returned all known
information (rule syntax, score, description, etc) would make rule-management
much much easier on operators.
