Qpid PMC post graduation - Nominations
Based on a discussion on the private list, it seems best to have those
committers that want to be on the PMC for Qpid post graduation nominate
themselves and provide a short brief of why. Marnie provided a great
example which I have reposted on the this list.
"I'd like to join the PMC and here's my spiel (will re-post as necessary).
I've been involved with Qpid since July 2006, initially focusing on
development and integration as well as gathering requirements from end
users. I contributed a significant amount of user documentation to the
wiki (website) and example code. I have supported the onboarding of
several end user projects and taken an active role in the planning and
delivery of a Qpid release (learning some Apache ways in the process).
I'll be returning to contribute to Qpid this month after a short absence
(maternity leave).
Regards,
Marnie"
If you would like to nominate yourself please do the same as a reply to
this thread. I will leave the thread open through the end of the week
and then update the graduation documents at that point. I will nominate
myself on a re- to this mail.
regards
Carl.

I would like to add my name to the list of people wishing to be on the
Qpid PMC.
I've been working on Qpid for over a year focusing on the Java Broker
and client, and contributing many of the changes required for us to
become JMS compliant. Much of my time this year has been spent
working with the AMQP WG group on finalising AMQP 0-10, and this year
I hope to be working on bring the Java side of Qpid up to full AMQP
0-10 compliance.

I would also like to be on the Qpid PMC.
I might be called the inventor of AMQP (but many talented people have
brought it on) and I have been involved with Qpid since before it became an
Apache project; I initiated open sourcing the initial codebase.
I also represent end-user interests, having deployed Qpid to mission
critical systems on Java and .NET, including designing a clustered HA+BCP
deployment for Qpid M1 transacted messaging.
I have a keen interest in influencing the future direction of the project
and helping ensure its a first class, standards compliant product.

I'd also like to be on the Qpid PMC.
I've been involved with both Qpid and the AMQP WG since before Qpid
became an Apache project. I'm a principal contributor to the python,
Java (0-10), and ruby clients. I've participated heavily in getting many
of the protocol extensions developed as part of Qpid officially
incorporated into the AMQP spec. And finally, though this may hurt my
chances, I did come up with the name "Qpid". ;)

I'd like to be on the Qpid PMC.
I've been involved since before Qpid became an apache project. I am one
of the principal C++ contributors and have contributed code to other
areas as well. I've been involved in design and process discussions on
qpid-dev and qpid-private covering most aspects of the project.

I would like to be a member of the Qpid PPMC.
As both a user and one of the original developers of Qpid, I have a
keen interest in influencing the future direction of the project and
continuing to work to ensure it becomes one of the leading open source
message brokers.

Here is why I believe I should be part of the Qpid PMC:
I have been involved with the Qpid project since before the code moved
to Apache. I have a keen interest in the future of this project and
helping us follow the 'Apache Way'. I am currently a moderator on the
qpid-user list and have been actively involved with the PPMC over the
years helping to define our current policies and assisting where I
can. Going forward I would like to help the project have more of a
visible direction so we can look to grow our visible user base.

Martin

I created the original Qpid project proposal and submitted it to Apache,
since then done work on numerous
areas of the project, set up the wiki, done a lot of admin, list

actively evangelize the project, contribute to it and do what ever needs
to be done that I can help with.
