   I'm not sure the parentheses are the problem here as the value in `sessionInfo()$running` isn't what we work with in the code.  It could be that the attempt to get the allowlist failed and we were returned an invalid string - we should add more checking to the code which handles this so we don't fail this way in future.  Glad a workaround was found in the meantime anyway!
