Database

I am having difficulty running a database.
Having set up a database for my book collection, I find that after I start the first entry which is the author’s name, when I go to put the book title in. The author’s name disappear and a zero comes up.

Can you please help me with this problem.

Whatever I enter it finish up with a zero in place.
