The following modifications were made to this issue:

You are probably already aware of this, but the reason you can't change the username of a user in Turbine is because the LOGIN_NAME column is used as the primary key.  This is so that Turbine can be backed by an LDAP security service.  You can't change the name of a permission, role or group either.
