Renaming Elements

hmm. Here is one I can't find a solution to anywhere. I'm building a tree
and while building the tree, the elements must have differnet names for
searching and updating.

Once it's build though, I want to rename most of the element tags to the
same name. Any way of doing this without building a second copy of the
tree?
