Between 4/3 and 5/4, the size of the built minimal Tomcat zipfile has increased from 17MB to 34MB.
The two changes to the minimal assemblies during that period were to include Jasper and to include Yoko.
Why are we including Yoko in the minimal assemblies??? Why do the builders need it?
Do we need to create another unavailable deployer???

Looking at leaving G3153 changes in (since ResourceRefBuilder.java needs the yoko-spec-corba for the ORB class), removing the yoko depend from the minimal config.xml files and just adding it to the JEE5 assemblies.
So far, this seems to be working. The minimal Tomcat assembly is down to 17.5MB and I can still deploy the Servlet-Examples to it without errors. I'm still testing the JEE5 Tomcat assembly with the EJB TCK bucket (Samples passed) to verify EJB resource-refs still work.
The only gotcha, may be trying to upgrade a minimal assembly to a full JEE5 assembly, may require manually adding the yoko depend back into the defaultEnvironment for the connector-deployer in config.xml, but I could never upgrade a 1.1.1 minimal to a full assembly, so this isn't lost functionality....

I probably won't get to looking at this for a bit. If anyone else is interested, I think a plausible path to look into is for the naming builder to add the dependency on corba only if a flag is set.. I don't think the connector-builder car should need the yoko dependency at runtime. I definitely haven't thought this through but I think this should make is so the minimal assemblies don't need the yoko modules.

There is a patch attached to issue 3138 that allows the build to finish without the adding the dependencies on yoko.
It does remove the default environment from one of the plan files (I don't remember which one right now though).
The patch on 3138 was created in response to djencks saying that we needed a different way to resolve 3057.
I do not know what other consequences there are to the patch except that the build completes and the resulting geronimo server does appear to be fully functional.
As far as I know, no one has reviewed the patch or commented on what the consequences of applying it would be.

Patch for G3155, which is a slightly modified version of the geronimo-3138-fixbuild.patch and does not remove the changes made in G3153 due to the ResourceRefBuilder needing the ORB class from the Yoko spec jar.
I verified the minimal Tomcat assembly starts and the Servlet-Examples deploy and work.
I verified the JEE5 Tomcat assembly passes the Samples and EJB buckets with the same number of tests passing as before the patch was applied.

Committed revision 539104 in trunk.
Added the xml-attribute and resource back into the connector-deployer, but removed the included yoko depend, so the minimal assemblies don't need yoko (they still need the yoko specs for the ORB class.) Added the xml-attribute to the JEE5 server configs as an attribute with the Yoko depend.
This should be the last change, unless we find TCK breakage.
