Prepare James for running in a clustered setup - distributed James
------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JAMES-1387
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-1387
Project: JAMES Server
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: James Core, MailStore & MailRepository
Affects Versions: 3.0-beta3
Reporter: Ioan Eugen Stan
Priority: Minor
Fix For: Trunk
I believe that with hbase mailbox implementation (and JPA) we can have many instances of James accessing the same mailstore, but there are some requirements.
I will add some tasks that are needed to fill this issue.

----------------------------------------
How to do load balancing and/or clustering between James instances? Insufficient insight to provide a good understandable task for GSoC. Input is highly apreciated.

Of course. Make a detailed description on how you think you should implement it and post it on the dev mailing list. Also make your proposal on melange when you are ready.
