[download] How to count AOO downloads?

Hi,

just to keep is short:

What is the way to count software downloads in an Apache project?

If there isn't one, how to know how widespreaded our application is?

Maybe a question especially for older Apache members resp. our mentors.

Thanks

Marcus

I don't know if Apache has a better way, at the mirror level. But at
the very least, if we agree on using Google Analytics. we can track
download events that are triggered by visitors to our download page.
