[Bug 57827] New: Enable adding/removing of members via jmx in a static-membership cluster

https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=57827

            Bug ID: 57827
Summary: Enable adding/removing of members via jmx in a
                    static-membership cluster
           Product: Tomcat 7
           Version: 7.0.59
          Hardware: PC
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Cluster
          Assignee: dev@tomcat.apache.org
          Reporter: christoph.prybila@gmail.com

When creating a cluster with static membership the number of participating
cluster-nodes sometimes is not static.

Therefore it should be possible to add/remove members in such a
static-membership cluster without restarting the other already running tomcat
instances.

As far as I cloud tell there is currently no possibility to do that.
This would be suited as a jmx feature.

With Tomcat 7 reaching EOL, move the remaining open enhancement requests to
Tomcat 8.
