[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-19619) S3A : Add Support For Multi-Region S3 Access Points

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-19619?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=18007727#comment-18007727 ]

Syed Shameerur Rahman commented on HADOOP-19619:
------------------------------------------------

Multi-Region Access Points supports copy operations using Multi-Region Access Points only as a destination when using the Multi-Region Access Point ARN (Refer : [https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/MultiRegionAccessPointRestrictions.html)]

We need to skip tests which does copy/rename when MRAP Arn is used. Currently due to Junit 5 changes in hadoop-aws module , S3A ITests are failing which is blocking the development on this feature.

> [Amazon S3 Multi-Region Access Points|https://aws.amazon.com/s3/features/multi-region-access-points/] provide a global endpoint for applications that need to access data stored in S3 buckets located in multiple AWS regions. This feature simplifies how applications access data distributed across different geographic locations, providing a single endpoint that automatically routes requests to the bucket with the lowest latency.
> The current implementation in S3A only allows single region access point and the goal is to expand the scope/implementation to include multi-region-access points as well.
