2.0 paper

my paper for apachecon still isn't done, mostly because each time i start
to write about something new that doesn't exist yet, i got itchy and had
to scratch it. there's some filtering and protocol handler stuff talked
about that works, but i haven't checked in yet. most other things that
don't work yet will probably happen too. again, it's an unfinished
braindump, but hopefully some of the new ideas and stuff will be
interesting:

p.s.
looking forward to cold beer in a london pub!

We still have to come up with a much better name for thread item
pools... tipool just doesn't run off the tongue well!

if only there was not so much 1.xx support to take care of, 2.0 could be
closer to done by now.

for those who don't know, cranberry juice is to stas as a few pints of
beer are to most of us (and maybe a magic brownie + cup of mushroom tea :)
