I can confirm that Java 1.4 runs smoothly on my AMD64:

java version "1.4.2-rc1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build Blackdown-1.4.2-rc1)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build Blackdown-1.4.2-rc1, mixed mode)

I have not tried cocoom though, but since all the other stuff run well,
I would expect that cocoon runs fine also.

never thought of problems because it worked on the spur of the moment.

Thank you! It never occurred to me that I could _build_ with
1.4 and _run_ with 1.5.

oh, I didn't build it on that machine, did it on a dual Xeon with Sun JDK
1.4.2 on RH9. The tomcat and cocoon are distributed from there to the
cluster, so it's like copiing it from that environment.

How did you get cocoon to compile? I just installed Solaris 10 on
my 64-bit SPARC, and can't build cocoon any more. :-(

Either cocoon-2.1.6-src.tar.gz or cocoon-2.1_20041127171249.tar.gz

Core3. Was realy surprised, with our application we had tree times the
perfomance like with Dual XEON.

Before the raid controller blew up, we had a dual opteron server running
gentoo, jdk 1.4.2 IIRC and cocoon 2.1.5 - worked like charm ;)
