[NewBe] Tapestry4 Sample Application

Hi all

Just a question : is there somewhere a Tapestry 4 sample application I
could look into ?

In fact I'm heavily reading the tapestry jakarta website and I often
find myself lost in the "pratical" how to.

For example, I would like to use an ASO (using
http://jakarta.apache.org/tapestry/UsersGuide/state.html#state.aso )
but I'm lost in the configuration stuff (what to put exactly in my
hivemodule.xml apart from the line refering my ASO ? How to exactly
use the ASO somewhere else in my code..).

So I would love to be able to use a sample application (I'm just keen
on my Eclipse Ctrl H to find configuration how to ;)).

Thank in advance

ZedroS, digging...

Within the distribution in the examples directory, you have the source
for the workbench and vlib example applications.

You can also find information about the compiled examples here:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tapestry/examples/index.html

Search the archives, there were a number of other people in previous
threads that put forward links to their personal examples.

Buy the book, it really makes things easier. I have both the pdf and
hard copy versions.

Buy the book, it's all great. Our developers found it invaluable. If only
all the tec books were like this!

I'd like one like that for HiveMind.

Thanks Mat, I've found it in between and I am at the chapter 3,
seriously wondering whether to buy the whole book. The explanation are
just really good and deep, explaining the various possibilities and
their impact. Great !

Kent Tong's book explains ASOs. It's up to date for T4 and the first 4
chapters are free. Check out chapter 4 for ASOs.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm currently doing some tutorials I've
found (hoping they'll content what I'm looking for). As soon as I've
finished them I will go for your samples. Updating the Tapestry wiki
with these samples might be a good idea too.

BTW, I didn't found the source code for the workbench and virtual
library... I've unzipped the tar.gz and I didn't find the code in it.

I am actively working on a Creat, Read, Update, Delete application that
gives examples on how to do the different things in Tapestry. I just posted
an example of ASO's the other day that should be exactly what you need. I
was also having trouble because it isn't stated that you should use the
@InjectState annotation to access the ASO. See this thread for more
information:

Let me know if you have any questions on that code.
