Portal/ Portlet Authorization

Hello all

In our application we have a requirement to use our own authorization
because eventually we will use tools like
SiteMinder. I saw an interface to plug our own implementation which is
PortalAccessController.
Based on this I have the below question

If I provide an alternate implemenation for RegistryAccessController
example and put that in the
JetspeedSecurity.properties will it be ok?. I also see the
JetspeedSecurity Class which is a
commodity static accessor class around the JetspeedSecurityService. The
JetspeedSecurityService
is in turn referencing the underlying JetspeedDBSecurityService.
Appreciate if someone can explain
what is the flow here between these objects.

Thanks
