New 2.0 convention confusion?

I was just downloading the binary I build on vc6 sp5 for testing on my laptop...

wget http://dev.apache.org/dist/binaries/apache-2_0_21-alpha-win32-x86.zip

... and I got to thinking about the new naming convention.  Given that there _is_
an alpha cpu (don't know how many are out there yet and still), I'm just stopping
to ask if folks expect that the -alpha -beta -gold names may be mangled, later on.

Had I named the file apache-2_0_21-win32-x86-alpha.zip, this would have been really
troubling.

Just something to ponder, I don't have a quick solution to offer.
