DOMWriter

I am looking at using a DTM like model for DOM. Essentially, I want to forgo
use of text nodes and use extra pointer in my DOMElement and DOMAttr which
reference the real data. I could essentially spool this data to disk. So I
have a thin wrapper around the DOMNode called MyDOMNode which maintains this
pointer. Does the DOMWriter provide any callback to write a element and the
derived implementation could write the data itself. On the more fundamental
note, why is DTM not used as a option in xerces-C.
Thanks
Kiran
