[jira] Commented: (JDO-580) Add TCK query test using an aggregate on a size expression

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JDO-580?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12629310#action_12629310 ]

Craig Russell commented on JDO-580:
-----------------------------------

Related issue: the specification is not explicit about result "field expressions" that are methods applied to fields.

The test could also test things like

"select this.phoneNumbers.size() from Employee",
"select this.phoneNumbers.get("home") from Employee",
"select this.firstName.substring(1,4) from Employee"

> There are currently no TCK tests for using size() and max() or other aggregates in queries. For example, find the Node or Nodes with the maximum number of children: SELECT FROM Node WHERE this.children.size() == (SELECT MAX(n.children.size()) FROM Node n).
