./configuration acrobatics.

Hi everyone,

Yuri, has made an interesting config and runs on build errors. Please
have a look.

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=128148

I would prefer if we discuss this on the list and not on bugzilla.
Please keep Yuri in the loop, I am not sure if he is subscribed.

@Jim, why do you use |--without-stlport \ on
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Development+Snapshot+Builds#DevelopmentSnapshotBuilds-buildflags|

|?|

|This does not make any sense, since IMHO STLPORt tests if features are
available in STD lib, and if not implements them from boost or an own
implementation.|

|So deactivating it, I would expect Issues. But maybe I have a gap how
C++ works. (Can list the Modules using stlport if that helps. I have
been working on a dependency Map in draw...)
|

|
|

|And why do we have build stuff on CWiki and MWiki? Can we have one
place to collect build guides? :S
|

|
|

|Sorry so many different things in one mail. Feel free to change the
topic as fits.|

|Thanks
|

|All thhe Best|

|the not so awake Peter. ;)

Thanks Peter.

I'm subscribed to the list, only I'm reading it
via 'nabble', so no need to trouble yourselves
with CC's.

Like I said on BZ, I was able to build 'trunk'
about mid-April, but that was on another linux
system.

I don't have the exact config, but looking in
the notes I think there were like three options
regarding libraries and modules:

  --disable-pam \
  --enable-beanshell \
  --enable-category-b \

So, I don't really know where did the libraries
come from in those 'old' builds. And now I'd
like to have a more controlled setup of AOO,
hence the 'interesting' config.

As stated on the bug report:

Possibly a regression
from:https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openoffice/trunk@1852965

Please keep the discussion there.

Thanks Andrea for the pointer.

It does not give any reasons for the option thought. I will check for
more pointers in the commit logs.

It does not give hints why it is still excluded even the branch does not
exist in SVN. Hopefully i find something.

I added the Thread to the wiki and added a description to stlport there.
I hope I got it right.

Using --without-stlport has been the default for a long time if I recall
correctly. I think you can read this list's archives starting from
https://s.apache.org/u6w21 for some context. The commit logs may have
more information and better links.

Regards,
   Andrea.
