Patrick,

This is not a bug. Please read
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/logging.html and fix your logging
configuration. HttpClient makes not assumption about default config of arbitrary
logging utilities. Logging is an integral feature of HttpClient, if you like it
or not. If you do not care about log output, you are free to disable logging for
HttpClient alltogether. Commons-Logging as well as every log implementation
provide means to disable or reduce log output. No need to dupe this functionality.
