[jira] [Commented] (SPARK-6363) make scala 2.11 default language

Sean Owen commented on SPARK-6363:
----------------------------------

Spark is already cross-built for 2.10 and 2.11, and published separately for both. I don't think 100% of Spark's dependencies and modules work with 2.11. Is it causing a problem for end users? I had the impression this wasn't quite ready to be the default.

> Mostly all libraries already moved to 2.11 and many are starting to drop 2.10 support. So, it will be better if Spark binaries would be build with Scala 2.11 by default.
