[jira] Created: (GERONIMO-879) The console inclusion of a license for JDBM is obsolete.

The console inclusion of a license for JDBM is obsolete.
--------------------------------------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-879
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-879
     Project: Geronimo
        Type: Bug
  Components: console
    Versions: 1.0-M5
 Environment: All.
    Reporter: Rick McGuire
    Priority: Minor

The about jsp page for the console includes a license link for JDBM. The JDBM component is no longer a Geronimo dependency, so this should be removed and the accompanying JDBM_license.txt file removed.

I think the Console is Geronimo from a user perspective. It is the GUI
view into the heart of G.

This sounds like a maintenance rathole.

Do any of the things we use actually require this? Can we just not
do this in the console? Or pull in the license, notice and copyright
files in the root?

Can you put that comment on the JIRA issue?

I guess the question becomes, do we want the console to show all
licenses for all products that Geronimo uses, or just the licenses for the
products that the console itself requires.

Do not remove the jar..

The JDBM *is* a Geronimo dependency now...Apache Directory needs it.

Aaron Mulder updated GERONIMO-879:
----------------------------------

    Fix Version: 1.0

Currently the Geronimo repository does include JDBM:

repository/jdbm/jars/jdbm-0.20-dev.jar

We should probably remove the JAR and ensure it doesn't cause problems before removing the license. Do you know what JDBM was used for?

An SVN diff to remove the link from the jsp file. This will also require deletion of the license.txt file it links to.
