Kafka running on Windows

Hi all,

There is an issue trying to get Kafka working correctly on Windows. Here is a link to the GitHub issue: https://github.com/apache/kafka/pull/12331

We will be ramping up our Kafka dev with a team split between Windows and Macs, so it would be good if we could get some movement on this or at least some ideas around how we can help get this working.
