Unable to create spanshots

I am unable to create snapshots successfully (using the management
console site), even as the admin account, why?

Apache Cloud Stack 4.4.2

Failed to create snapshot due to an internal error creating snapshot for
volume 76.

Storage Volume Details:
State: Ready
Type: DATADISK
Storage Type: shared
Hypervisor: KVM
Size: 20GB
VM ID: detached
Storage: primary1
Domain: ROOT
Account: admin

Bob,

the kvm volume snapshots should work and it is working for me and many others, however in a very inefficient, slow and suboptimal way.

There could be multiple reasons why it is failing for you. you need to look at the management server logs and also at the agent and qemu logs on the host server. It should show the reason for failure.

In my experience, the issues are usually down to the problems with the secondary storage, so also check that there are not issues on the SSVM, that it has the secondary storage mounted and can write to it.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-7341
I set: kvm.snapshot.enabled equal to true and restarted the management
server, but that still did not help.

Change the global parameter(kvm.snapshot.enable) value form false to true and try again.
