[Bug 6839] New: Default options to spamassassin rc are wrong

https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=6839

          Priority: P2
            Bug ID: 6839
          Assignee: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
           Summary: Default options to spamassassin rc are wrong
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: steveo@syslang.net
          Hardware: All
            Status: NEW
           Version: 3.3 SVN branch
         Component: spamc/spamd
           Product: Spamassassin

The default values supplied in /etc/sysconfig/spamassassin are not applicable
for running spamd. An example of proper content might be (something like)

SPAMDOPTIONS='--daemonize --sql-config --nouser-config --username=nobody'

The supplied values

SPAMDOPTIONS="-d -c -m5 -H"

are not applicable to running spamd. They used to be applicable to running the
spamassassin command before spamd was created.

Agree completely with Darxus. This is an upstream issue not an issue with
SpamAssassin.

That sounds like a bug in redhat / fedora / etc. packaging of spamassassin, not
spamassassin.
