[users@httpd] Cgi qustion
Is there a way to not use the # statement as the first line in a cgi program?
Someway to put the necessary information in the conf?

You didn't state that, my apologies, but Apache makes no requirements
about what other programs need to run properly.

If you are on Windows (I seem to remeber Win 2k being mentioned in your
posts), you can perhaps make use of ScriptInterpreterSource Registry:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/core.html#scriptinterpretersource
If you're on *nix, the shebang should contain the path to the interpreter,
and AFAIK there is no way around it, except wrapping the call to the script
inside another script (eg. Perl) with a shebang.

I am using Rexx and it has nothing to do with the interpretor directly, it's an Apache requirement to find the Interpreter for a cgi.
And it won't run without it. THus why I thought it coul dbe hard coded in the cnf

No. That's required by the interpreter. The she-bang line shoudl really
be a non-issue (as opposed to the actual path to Perl).

You mean a Perl Module? I'm sure there is but I'm not a Perl wizard so I
can't tell ya (and even then, the Perl script that invokes the module
STILL has to have the she-bang line). Perhaps you'll have better luck
at finding the answer in Perl specific newsgroups and mailing lists
(start at Perl.org).
